Super Talent unveils quick CFast CompactFlash card

supertalentcfast sgThe average digital camera tends to save images to SD or SDHC cards. Some of the high-end DSLR cameras save to a faster storage medium called CompactFlash. These cards are much faster than SD cards, but tend to cost a lot more too. Super Talent has announced a new CompactFlash card called the CFast that promises much higher performance than the average CF card.

The CFast card uses the SATA interface to remove the bottleneck between the SSD and the computer. The new card has a maximum data transfer rate of 375MB/sec. That is over four times as fast as the 90MB/sec that the 600x CF cards are capable of.

Super Talent offers the CFast line in 32GB, 16GB, and 8GB capacities. The cards are standard CF Type I cards with operating shock ratings of 2,000Gs. The faster write speeds of the card make for less wait during fast burst shooting while the camera catches up.
