Safavian Convicted After Retrial
A second jury has convicted David Safavian of four counts of obstruction of justice and making false statements after his original conviction was overturned.
New Awards for Government Investigations
ProPublica, an organization that boosts "Journalism in the Public Interest," is awarding annual prizes for "outstanding investigative work by governmental bodies." This is intended to "recognize excellence in investigative reports issued by governmental groups such as the Government Accountability Office, congressional committees, inspectors general, state attorneys general, special counsels and special prosecutors—at any level or branch of government."
